I always thought that the only thing weirder than murderers were the people that were obsessed with murderers. You know, like the people who have serial killers on a t-shirt? Or cartoon versions of Jeffrey Dahmer on a coffee mug? It never sat right with me how two quirky millennials on a podcast could gab about the juicy gossip of a small town kidnapping. Meanwhile, that child’s mother is alive and still haunted by the terrors that, to the rest of us, are just episode 3 of Netflix’s splashy new true crime series.
Serial killers have taken a seat on a controversial throne in American pop culture. They’re everywhere - commercialized, commodified and immortalized. So what? Our fascination with them as a culture doesn’t hurt anyone. It just sells ad space. Right?
I became fascinated with everyone’s fascination. And now I have this short.
OBSESSION is a simple story that explores my most burning question: What would happen if a real serial killer stumbled upon one of these super-fans? Perhaps, this has already happened in real life, but no one lived to tell the tale. Good thing I can make these awesome fictional movies instead.

Even the smallest contribution will help get our insurance covered, our locations cleared, and, most importantly, our talent and crew paid. I can’t make a passion project like this without the assistance of my incredibly gifted and generous crew, who I get to call friends. I don’t take anyone’s efforts for granted and want to be sure that they are compensated for their work, because that is a value I hold close to my heart as a collaborator and creator.
